Teikou Middle School is well-known for their exceptional basketball team, who boasted the legendary "Generation of Miracles": a group of five gifted players, each with their own distinctive talents, who were deemed unbeatable by their third year. However, their vanity caused them to disband and attend different high schools following graduation. After returning from America, Taiga Kagami seeks out formidable basketball players to join Seirin High School's basketball team. Here, he encounters Tetsuya Kuroko, who appears to be unremarkable. However, Kagami soon discovers that Kuroko was the "Phantom Sixth Member" of the Generation of Miracles - a force to be reckoned with who utilized his unparalleled passing skills to assist the team from the shadows. Now, together, they vow to vanquish the Generation of Miracles and propel Seirin High School's basketball team to the top in Japan.
